W6 Green Screen

W3 Hperstudio - Purple Version 10-10
If you recall we began using iMovie last week on iMovie 9.0.9.? Well your teacher updated the iMacs to El Capitan and as it would be, the 9.0.9 version of iMovie no longer works.
When opening the purple version of iMovie for the first time it will ask you if you want to update. Please update. This action imports all of your older iMovie projects to the new version.
The project this week if 3 fold.
1. You can add an additional 10 photos, with transitions, and music to your old Nature project.
2. Your Choice. You can add a minimum of 20 images to a project title of your own choice.
3. I would like you to download a video from Youtube and import it into the the new version of iMovie.
Projects will be due Friday 11-20.

W1 Hyperstudio
This weeks project is to create a Hyperstudio stack that shows movement of an object, but must show the object from two different views. For example, it could be a side view of a person walking. The second view then could be of the person walking at you.

Week 8 Activities
Students using Hyperstudio will continue working on a 40 card animation. Once completed the students will be creating an animation using Hyperstudio. In this stack they will find a celebrity and make a copy of the persons head, removing the body. The student will create a stick figure body.
The animation shall include the created stick figure character giving a statement on global warming.

We will be working on a 10 card Stack showing movement. The first project will show a seed grow into a plant. You will turn your project into a MP4 video and post to your blogger.
Thurs/Fri: Start
The student will create a 40 card (min) stack telling a short story. The first card must give the name of your project and yourself and the last card must say "the end." Use timed buttons to move the cards. Record your project and place on your blogger.

Monday:
Using photo preview -(This is what you used to do the QUAD Photos.
Find an image from the internet. Use the LASSO tool - select an image from the QUAD photo you took last week and insert yourself into the image you took off the Internet. When complete place this image on your Blogger Page.
Tuesday:
Take the image you completed yesterday and open it up in "GIMP"
Find an image of a billboard, similar to what you did last week. Make sure to size your image using the perspective tool and insert your photo into the billboard. Place finished project on to your Blogger page.

Take a photo of yourself using PHOTOBOOTh
Find an image from the Internet of someone you consider to be a famous person.
The goal of this assignment is to place the head of the FAMOUS person on to your body of the photo from photo booth.
Open both images in GIMP. Using the LASSO tool remove the head of the famous person, (you might need to resize the photo so that it will fit on to your body) You can resize by going to the Image/resize image or use the perspective tool in the toolbox. When completed export image and place on to your Blogger. Provide a reason as to why you selected the person.

Quad Photos
Using the photo "Preview" software and the "LASSO" tool incorporate all of the photos taken in the QUAD of you and place them into ONE photo. When complete place the photo on to your Blogger Page and place it on a social media site you use. I am interested in seeing the comments you get from your friends.

3. Most of the time the student image is signigicantl larger than the billboard image so we need to reduce the image. to reduce image select "image" and "scale image". change the size to be 300 pixels wide by "use chain" to automatically resize the height.

Palm Tree, Color Me, Your Choice
This week the class will venture into the world of "GIMP".
GIMP an acronym for (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a free and open-source raster graphics editor used for image retouching and editing, free-form drawing, resizing, cropping, photo-montages, converting between different image formats, and more specialized tasks.
To introduce the software you will be doing a few projects.
Palm Tree
In this first project you will be given a photo a palm tree and modify the image with several different effects.
When ready to save the modified image select "Export". Make sure your image is saved as a JPG or PNG.
Color Me
In this project you will take a photo of yourself using "photo booth" Import the photo into Gimp.
Your Choice
Using an image of your choice - Imput into GIMP and be creative using some either some of the tools from the past two days or explore with something new.

- Tool Box - Select the "Paint Bucket" A dialogue box will appear. Select color and pour the paint.

Welcome
The 2015-2016 School year has begun! Warm temperatures have made the first week of school a bit uncomfortable especially with a few of the air conditioners not working on campus. Mine being one.
