Week 3 April 18-22

Earth Day Friday April 22, 2016

In tribute to Earth Day I would like each student to make a video representing Earth Day. Earth Day Celebration is in its 46 year!

The video that you make needs to contain photos, pictures, sketches, videos on the topic of Earth Day. A song(s) should accompany the images you present. Provide a title at the beginning and an ending title at the end of you video fading to black. Project is due Friday 4-22.

Two ways to take the video:

15 seconds or less....

There are so many different ways you can create a video with this topic. Some sample topics. Again these are only suggestions.

1. Greed, Selfishness, Apathy......Only Man

3. Seven Billion Plus....Earth is the third planet from the Sun, the densest planet in the Solar System, the largest of the Solar System's four terrestrial planets, and the only astronomical object known to harbor life.

2. Honor all your relations.

6. Do what needs to be done for the good of the all.
7. Give constant thanks to the Great Spirit for each new day.
8. Speak the truth: but only of the good in others.
9. Follow the rhythms of nature: rise and retire with the sun.
10. Enjoy life's journey but leave no tracks.

5.  Top 20 Earth Day Songs. You can use these songs as background to your video or use these songs to be your video.

Week 2 April 11-15

The Walk REDOX

This week take a partner and re-film "The Walk". This time keep the camera a consistent distance from the subject while walking. The action only needs to be a person walking the length of the quad.
Then take two "side shots" similar in fashion to what was taken last week. Have the subject look left, film and then right and film. (Remember to keep the camera Horizontal when filming.)

Upload your video, edit and render. Place completed project on your blogger page. During the edit stage place music in the background.

In Review:

1. Video a subject walking
2. Take two side shots of subject walking
3. Download your video on to your computer
4. Edit your video in iMovie. Add music to the background
5 Render and save your edited video. Title it "The Walk Redox"
6. Place your video on to your blogger page.

Happy Walking and Filming!

Week 1 Cont. Cell Phone Camera

 The Walk x 2

The second video you will be doing is similar to the first. Film a subject walking, but this time include two side shots of the subject. Edit the side shots into the video of the person walking. See example below:

Student Project:
Film and editing by  Paul Gomez
Subject: Justin Upchurch

Directions: For Take 1  Walk Video
1. Using your cell phone camera take a single video of a person walking in the quad.
2. Download video on to your classroom computer.
3. Place video clip into iMovie
4. Make 3 edits (minimum) to the video clip
5. Render video to iMovie file (SD480p  to HD 720p)
6. Upload edited video to you blogger page.

Notes:

Ways to get video clip from phone to computer

1. Google Photo's
2. Apple Air drop
3. Download "Adroid File Transfer" software on to your classroom computer.
4. Use your Google Drive account
5. Email the video clip to yourself. (problem is files are too large)
6. Download "Google Drive for Mac" software on to your classroom computer.

Other Comments:

What is the correct or desired way to hold a cell phone camera?  LANDSCAPE or Horizontally
If you hold your camera in the vertical position you will end up with a black bar on each side of the image. If you hold your camera in the horizontal position you will fill the entire screen. ( I am recommending this )

Quarter 4 Week #1 April 4-8

Welcome Back!
Here we go....Let's finish the year out strong...

Monday April 4th. Please make a post to your blogger.
How was your vacation?
What did you do on vacation?
Did you go anywhere?
What was the favorite thing you did over break?

Include a photo to sum up your holiday!

Example:

I went to Savannah Georgia. It was my first time in the state of Georgia. I was very impressed with the city.  Savannah, a coastal Georgia city, established in 1733,  is separated from South Carolina by the Savannah River. It’s known for its manicured parks, horse-drawn carriages and ornate antebellum architecture. Its cobblestoned historic district is filled with squares and parks like Forsyth Park, shaded by magnolia blossoms and oak trees covered with Spanish moss. The historic district’s architectural landmarks include the Gothic-Revival Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist.

Take a look at the Spanish moss on the trees.

An example of the ornate antebellum architecture
Bonus points if you can tell me why there is two front staircases.

There was a few movies filmed in Savannah that you may have heard of...
Baywatch with the Rock.
Forrest Gump
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.
