W8 May 23 - 27

This week the student shall take the hyperstudio project that they created last week and import into iMovie. In iMovie the student will add sound to their project.
Sounds can be found within iMovie or sounds can be found on the Internet by searching for "WAV" files and or "MP3" files. Some Interenet sites may request money for the sounds. Please do not use these sites.

Sites:  Sounddogs.com (I have verified free access using Firefox )

As an alternate to above. Should the student not want to use their hyperstudio project or did not make a HS project. The student can create a music video using photos from the Internet, and then add sounds to create a unique video.

OA's
Monday: If found $1,000,000 what would you do with it?
Tuesday: If you could meet anyone (dead or alive) who would you want to meet, what might you say to that person?
Wednesday: If you could vote in the upcoming election, who would you vote for?
Thursday: What do you think your life will be like in 10 Years?

Week 7 May 16-20

Week 7 Hyperstudio

This week we will be working with Hyper Studio software (App). I will have to check to see what the developers are calling it these days. If you were in my computer class at the beginning of the school year we experimented with the Hyper Studio.

I first want to show everyone some of the basic functions of the software. Hyper Studio is available for both MAC and PC.

There are two projects I would like students to accomplish this week.

Project 1 Created an animation (flipbook)  I would like for you to show movement of an object.

Project 2 Another animation, but for this project I would like for you to use one of the drawings you created last week on Google Draw. I would like for you to copy your drawing into Hyper Studio and then make some minor changes to the drawing over a series of cards to make it look like your drawing is talking. You will then add audio to the Hyper Studio project.

Both projects will be saved as MP4 videos and be posted to your blogger for full credit.

A Hyper Studio Tutorial Page.

Video of the Championship Game

Week 2 April 11-15

The Walk REDOX

This week take a partner and re-film "The Walk". This time keep the camera a consistent distance from the subject while walking. The action only needs to be a person walking the length of the quad.
Then take two "side shots" similar in fashion to what was taken last week. Have the subject look left, film and then right and film. (Remember to keep the camera Horizontal when filming.)

Upload your video, edit and render. Place completed project on your blogger page. During the edit stage place music in the background.

In Review:

1. Video a subject walking
2. Take two side shots of subject walking
3. Download your video on to your computer
4. Edit your video in iMovie. Add music to the background
5 Render and save your edited video. Title it "The Walk Redox"
6. Place your video on to your blogger page.

Happy Walking and Filming!

Week 1 Cont. Cell Phone Camera

 The Walk x 2

The second video you will be doing is similar to the first. Film a subject walking, but this time include two side shots of the subject. Edit the side shots into the video of the person walking. See example below:

Student Project:
Film and editing by  Paul Gomez
Subject: Justin Upchurch

Directions: For Take 1  Walk Video
1. Using your cell phone camera take a single video of a person walking in the quad.
2. Download video on to your classroom computer.
3. Place video clip into iMovie
4. Make 3 edits (minimum) to the video clip
5. Render video to iMovie file (SD480p  to HD 720p)
6. Upload edited video to you blogger page.

Notes:

Ways to get video clip from phone to computer

1. Google Photo's
2. Apple Air drop
3. Download "Adroid File Transfer" software on to your classroom computer.
4. Use your Google Drive account
5. Email the video clip to yourself. (problem is files are too large)
6. Download "Google Drive for Mac" software on to your classroom computer.

Other Comments:

What is the correct or desired way to hold a cell phone camera?  LANDSCAPE or Horizontally
If you hold your camera in the vertical position you will end up with a black bar on each side of the image. If you hold your camera in the horizontal position you will fill the entire screen. ( I am recommending this )

Quarter 4 Week #1 April 4-8

Welcome Back!
Here we go....Let's finish the year out strong...

Monday April 4th. Please make a post to your blogger.
How was your vacation?
What did you do on vacation?
Did you go anywhere?
What was the favorite thing you did over break?

Include a photo to sum up your holiday!

Example:

I went to Savannah Georgia. It was my first time in the state of Georgia. I was very impressed with the city.  Savannah, a coastal Georgia city, established in 1733,  is separated from South Carolina by the Savannah River. It’s known for its manicured parks, horse-drawn carriages and ornate antebellum architecture. Its cobblestoned historic district is filled with squares and parks like Forsyth Park, shaded by magnolia blossoms and oak trees covered with Spanish moss. The historic district’s architectural landmarks include the Gothic-Revival Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist.

Take a look at the Spanish moss on the trees.

An example of the ornate antebellum architecture
Bonus points if you can tell me why there is two front staircases.

There was a few movies filmed in Savannah that you may have heard of...
Baywatch with the Rock.
Forrest Gump
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

Student Choices

Here is a link to a possible project...

Students TED

Sock puppet App

W9 March 21-25

W9 Final week of the 3rd Quarter......March 21-25.
Note: NO SCHOOL on Friday!

Monday 3-21   Class Activity

Close Up Photo - Take a photo using your phone camera of something within the classroom up close.
Take at least 3 different photos.  Once you have decided on a photo use a photo editing app to make the picture black & white. Also using a photo editing app change the photo. For example: there is an app that will make the photo look like a pencil sketch.  Give it a try.

In review. Post 3 different images of the same close-up photo that you take from something within the  classroom. Post on your blogger.

Tuesday 3-22  Class Activity

Tilt Shift Photo - Take a photo from an extreme angle, either really high or really low angle of an object. This alone is OK but if you add an app that miniaturizes or tilt shifts the image you get some unreal affects. These are all real cars and people.
